亚麻籽/油中所含的Omega-3是ALA。ALA是比DHA和EPA更基层的Omega-3脂肪酸。人体在摄入ALA后,会根据其需求将ALA适量地转换为DHA和EPA,因此,亚麻籽(油)能够非常好地发挥Omega-3的功效。无数的研究都显示了亚麻籽/油的功效。
食用安全的亚麻产品,只有好处,没有副作用。 同时,随着海洋污染的恶化以及过度打捞,高质量的鱼油越来越贵,廉价鱼油更令消费质疑其来源和质量。近十几年来,植物性Omega-3替代品则越来越受欢迎。亚麻籽/油是最成熟,最可信的Omega-3来源。
很多植物中都含有一定量的Omega-3。 含Omega-3量最多的植物油有亚麻籽油和核桃油。 市场上常见的食用油里,绝大多数都是高含Omega-6。所以,多数人从每天的饮食中摄取的多是Omega-6,很少量的Omega-3。Omega-6 和Omega-3在人体内的含量比例对健康起着关键性作用。WHO和各国政府还没有制定出Omega-3摄取量的建议标准。WHO和多国政府却已经建议Omega-3和Omega-6摄取比例。WHO的建议是10~5:1 – 每摄入5到10份的Omega-6,就应该摄入至少1份的Omage-3。建议最高的是日本:2:1, 恰恰日本是世界上最长寿的国家。
多数食油中都是含很多Omega-6,很少Omega-3。 亚麻籽中Omega-3/Omega-6含量则是反过来的:Omega-3 含量是Omega-6的三倍,其Omega-3含量达到了57-65%,是陆地上Omega-3含量最高的植物油,由于对身体的重要性,被称为“液体黄金”! 所以, 食用亚麻籽会更快改变体内Omega-3/Omega-6的比例,使其更为合理。亚麻籽是补充Omega-3的最好来源之一。
除了Omega-3,亚麻籽中含有大量的木酚素(Lignans),木酚素是一类与人体雌激素十分相似的植物雌激素。亚麻籽中木酚素是已知食物中最高的 - 比其它已知含木酚素的60几种食品高100~800倍。近年来,德国、加拿大、澳大利亚、英国和美国等地的科学家,对亚麻籽和木酚素做了大量的研究,这些研究显示,亚麻木酚素对雌激素依赖性疾病如乳腺癌、前列腺癌、经期综合征、骨质疏松有预防作用。除此之外,临床研究显示亚麻木酚素对糖尿病、胃肠肿瘤、冠心病、肾脏病,抗氧化性都有有益的作用。
